Cordance Acquires Weave’s Institutional Effectiveness Product, Expanding SPOL’s Higher Education Portfolio

Acquisition Brings New IE Customers to SPOL, Reinforcing Commitment to Innovation, Partnership, and Continuous Improvement

Raleigh, NC – October 8, 2026 – Cordance today announced it has acquired Weave’s Institutional Effectiveness (IE) product. The IE product and its customers will join SPOL, a Cordance company and leading provider of institutional effectiveness software for higher education, as part of the company’s long-term plans for the business.

The addition of the IE product expands SPOL’s portfolio of solutions supporting strategic planning, assessment, and accreditation across colleges and universities. This acquisition strengthens SPOL’s portfolio through solutions built on a shared commitment to helping higher education institutions create more connected, transparent, and effective continuous improvement processes.

“For more than two decades, SPOL has partnered with colleges and universities to help transform institutional effectiveness from a compliance exercise into a strategic advantage,” said Larry Squarini, President of SPOL. “We are excited to welcome the Institutional Effectiveness customers to the SPOL community and continue investing in the people, solutions, and technologies that help institutions demonstrate meaningful progress and achieve their goals.”

As part of the transition, IE customers will continue to receive support while gaining access to the expanded expertise, resources, and long-term product investment available across the SPOL organization.

SPOL’s approach to higher education software is built around continuous quality improvement and close collaboration with partner institutions. Customer feedback plays a critical role in shaping the future of the platform, ensuring that investments are focused on delivering meaningful value, reducing administrative burden, and supporting institutional success over time. This philosophy recently guided the launch of SPOL Version 6 and continues to shape the company’s future roadmap.

The acquisition further reinforces SPOL’s commitment to ongoing innovation in institutional effectiveness, including investments in platform modernization, enhanced reporting capabilities, deeper integrations, and emerging technologies designed to help institutions work more efficiently and make better-informed decisions.

“Institutions are being asked to do more with fewer resources while demonstrating greater accountability than ever before,” Squarini added. “Our mission remains the same: to provide the tools, support, and expertise they need to connect planning, assessment, accreditation, and improvement efforts into a unified system that delivers real value.”
